Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Communications Operator you will professionally and efficiently answer and connect all calls to requested areas. This job will require you to route calls, carry out administrative duties and transferring information efficiently, and accurately. You will assist all business, patients, and staff in a professional manner while assisting in the daily operations of the Communications Department.

• You will operate an electronic switchboard to route incoming calls and to place outgoing calls.
• You will provide directory information to internal and external inquirers.
• You will demonstrate the ability to answer and extend multiple calls efficiently.
• You will maintain a daily list of all facility staff on-call, including home phone numbers and beeper numbers readily available.

• You will be knowledgeable of departments and services available in the facility, and of emergency codes to be used over the PA system.

What qualifications you will need:

    High school or GED
  • Minimum of one year experience on a PBX console or answering service.

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is a 380-bed acute-care hospital. Offering a full range of services. We are home to the most experienced Heart Institute on the Treasure Coast. Lawnwood Hospital provides interventional and therapeutic care, including open-heart surgery.
