HC Solutions Group is partnering with a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm to identify a Mechanical Design Engineer for its Raleigh office. The Mechanical Design Engineer will support the design and coordination of HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, education, and government facilities. This role is ideal for someone with current experience in mechanical design within an MEP or AEC consulting environment who enjoys working in a collaborative, technically focused setting with strong project exposure and growth potential.

Responsibilities
- Design HVAC and mechanical systems including air distribution, hydronic systems, ventilation, and central plant systems
- Prepare engineering calculations including load analysis, equipment sizing, and energy evaluations
- Develop construction documents including plans, specifications, and technical reports
- Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and architectural teams for integrated project delivery
- Support projects from schematic design through construction administration
- Perform Revit modeling and assist with BIM coordination efforts
- Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and assist with field coordination activities
- Ensure compliance with ASHRAE standards, energy codes, and applicable regulations
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Contribute to efficient, sustainable, and constructible mechanical system solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
- Current experience in mechanical design within an MEP or AEC consulting environment
- EIT preferred but not required
- Experience designing HVAC systems for healthcare, education, commercial, institutional, or government facilities preferred
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical design software
- Strong understanding of ASHRAE standards and applicable building codes
- Familiarity with BIM coordination workflows preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
