Are you someone who is reliable and detail-oriented?

Hines Building Maintenance (HBM) is looking for an alert individual to help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming campus environment, while also enforcing safe school practices and visitor protocols. This role is a blend of supporting day porter and campus safety responsibilities, focusing on keeping the campus safe, maintaining cleanliness, and assist with facility needs.

This is a full-time position with weekend overtime opportunities, the schedule is Mon - Fri, 7:30am - 4pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the facilities team with light maintenance duties, including but not limited to: cleaning, painting, gutter cleaning, power washing, and other campus support duties.
• Walk and survey hallways, common areas, interior and exterior grounds, and parking lots to enforce safe school policies.
• Welcomes, assists and answer inquiries from students, visitors, and staff in a supportive and professional manner.
• Contacts proper authorities in a timely manner when needed.
• Provides high visibility to act as a deterrent to unsafe or poor behavior, loitering, and disruptive behavior.
• Escort visitors as needed and ensure proper adherence to campus protocols
• Assist in setup and tear-down of school event and setting up traffic safety zone

Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities):

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to communicate clearly in a professional and positive manner
• Ability to use sound judgement in difficult situations and solve problems effectively.
• Ability to work independently and alert with limited supervision
• Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques and de-escalation techniques.
  
  

Certification Requirements

• CPR and First Aid certification required within 1 year after entering position.
  
  

Preferred Education And Experience

• 1-year experience working in a school setting.
• Working knowledge of two-way radio.
• Basic knowledge of using a PC and MS Office software.
• Experience in a customer service role.
• Experience in light maintenance activities
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, pull, and push 40 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and walk for long periods of time during a shift.
  
  

Other Requirements:

• Must be able to pass Federal background check (livescan) and Tuberculosis (TB) test.
