What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inside Sales position at HBD Industries?
This position is based in Charlotte, NC and reports to the Product Manager.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and nurture assigned customer accounts to deliver an exceptional, high‑quality customer experience.
- Build strong, trust‑based relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and a solution‑oriented mindset.
- Proactively reach out to customers about open orders, product needs, trends, and upcoming opportunities.
- Process inquiries and prepare accurate, timely quotations—then follow through to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
- Support Customer Service with order entry and order management to keep fulfillment running smoothly.
- Monitor sales trends and account activity to help meet or exceed sales goals.
- Bring energy, enthusiasm, and customer focus to every interaction.
- Offer insights and support during the annual sales planning process.
- Take on additional tasks as needed to support the team and business unit.
What You Bring
Choose ONE of the following pathways:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field 2 years inside sales experience in an industrial or technical field; OR
- Associate degree in business, marketing, or a related field 4 years inside sales experience in an industrial or technical field; OR
- 5 years inside sales experience in an industrial or technical environment.
Skills That Will Make You Successful
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems.
- Analytical and project management abilities (preferred).
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- A positive, enthusiastic, customer‑centered approach.
Travel Requirements
- Approximately 10% travel to customers, end users, and other company sites as required by business needs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
