Landscape Crew Lead

Job Summary
MEH Groundworks is hiring an experienced Landscape Crew Lead to supervise daily landscape installation and maintenance projects. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for directing crew members, coordinating jobsite activities, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, communicates clearly, and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a landscape crew on commercial and residential projects.
- Assign daily tasks and keep crew members organized and productive.
- Read and follow landscape plans, planting plans, work orders, and project specifications.
- Oversee the installation of trees, shrubs, plants, sod, seed, mulch, decorative rock, landscape fabric, and edging.
- Perform and supervise mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, cleanup, and property maintenance.
- Assist with irrigation installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs.
- Verify that materials are installed in the correct locations and quantities.
- Operate trucks, trailers, skid steers, mini skid steers, mowers, trenchers, and other landscape equipment.
- Train crew members on installation methods, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
- Monitor job progress and communicate delays, material needs, and jobsite concerns to management.
- Complete daily time records, job reports, and material documentation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional jobsite.
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, project managers, and other trades.
- Perform physical landscape work alongside the crew as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of professional landscape experience.
- Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of landscape installation and maintenance practices.
- Ability to read basic landscape plans, measurements, and project specifications.
- Experience safely operating landscape tools and equipment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to safely tow and back trailers is preferred.
- Dependable transportation and consistent attendance.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Early mornings, extended hours, and occasional weekend work may be required depending on weather, seasonal workload, and project schedules.
Compensation
$25–$29 per hour, based on experience, leadership ability, equipment operation skills, and overall qualifications.
