Who We’re Looking For
We’re on the hunt for a Backhaul Specialist who lives for load boards, data, and logistics puzzles. If you can hunt down profitable backhauls, optimize driver routes, and turn your technical skills into serious commission, you’ll feel right at home.
We want someone who:
- Is hands-on with freight platforms like DAT, Truckstop, 123 Loadboard, Sylectus, True North, and similar tools.
- Can analyze data and make decisions fast, spotting trends and maximizing revenue.
- Has 2 years in transportation, freight brokerage, or logistics with real load board experience.
- Loves solving problems independently but knows when to collaborate with dispatch and operations.
- Appreciates a results-driven environment where your performance directly impacts your pay.
What You’ll Do
Your role is all about keeping our drivers moving efficiently while making sure every mile counts. You’ll:
- Source, negotiate, and book profitable backhaul freight opportunities.
- Match loads to driver routes, schedules, and equipment to optimize efficiency.
- Monitor and manage postings on all major load boards: DAT, Truckstop, 123 Loadboard, Sylectus, True North, and more.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and shippers to generate repeat business.
- Track market trends, spot rates, and capacity to make informed load selection decisions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, driver hours of service, and legal requirements.
- Provide reporting on booked backhauls, revenue performance, and market insights.
- Collaborate with dispatch, operations, and leadership while owning your numbers.
This role is tech-heavy, numbers-focused, and extremely rewarding for someone who thrives on precision and optimization.
What You Bring
- 2–3 years of freight, brokerage, or logistics experience.
- Deep expertise in load boards and logistics platforms (you know them inside and out).
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- High attention to detail, organization, and efficiency.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Texas freight markets is a plus.
