What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asphalt Raker/Laborer position at Hazel Asphalt, LLC?
We are looking for a competent Asphalt Raker/Laborer to work on residential/highway road construction projects. You must have physical strength, endurance, and be able to lift and move heavy objects. Being good in collaboration and following instructions and safety rules are important.
Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to safety and detail
- Previous asphalt paving experience preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, shoveling, and raking.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Dependable, safety-focused, and team-oriented.
- Assist crew members in the completion of work where required
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, customers, and the public.
- Assist in the preparation of surfaces for paving (sweeping, cleaning, applying tack coat, etc.) Shovel, rake, and level hot mix asphalt.
- Operate hand tools and small equipment (e.g., plate compactors, tampers, brooms).
- Support the paving machine by feeding asphalt and maintaining a consistent workflow.
- Maintain a clean and safe work zone by clearing debris and adhering to safety guidelines.
- Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment at the job site.
- Perform daily equipment and tool checks and maintenance as needed.
- Directs traffic near, in, or around work zones.
Must be able to pass a drug test
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
