What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution System Operator position at Haywood EMC?
Haywood EMC is growing, and we are looking for our next Distribution System Operator to join our team. This position receives outage calls and coordinates restoration of service to members, receives calls during and/or after hours from members to help them with issues or request related to their electric service and monitors various cooperative systems on stability of electric distribution system.
Education & Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Prefer associate's degree from vocational and/or technical school and candidate with prior electric utility experience.
Candidate must:
- have working knowledge of metering, SCADA and distribution systems.
- have ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with other employees and members.
- have ability to read, write and speak English; prefer a candidate with ability to read, speak and understand Spanish.
- maintain valid NC Driver License.
- Candidate must live within 30 miles of the Cooperative's headquarters (376 Grindstone Rd., Waynesville, NC).
