Branch Manager – Syracuse

JS Woodhouse, a division of Hayward Distributing, is hiring a Branch Manager for our Syracuse location. In this role, you will combine day to day operational leadership with inside sales support, using your equipment knowledge to discuss product options, and help drive branch growth. You will support dealers directly, ensure every order and inquiry is handled accurately and efficiently, and take ownership of processes as challenges arise. Your contributions will make a real impact on both customers and the overall success of the branch. Founded in 1947, Hayward Distributing is a stable company with a proven track record of success. We are a multi-state wholesale distributor of top lawn and garden and engine brands, including Honda engines, Bobcat mowers, and Ego. You will work closely with brands such as Westfield, Demco, and Worksaver. In addition to these brands, the Syracuse location houses our Sno Way snow removal line, including plows and spreaders.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Answering inbound phone calls, primarily from dealers
• Discussing equipment needs and recommending product solutions
• Supporting dealer sales efforts through product knowledge and order guidance
• Solving customers’ tough problems and keeping them happy
• Answering technical questions about ag and construction equipment
• Ensuring orders are processed in a timely manner each day
• Entering complex equipment orders accurately
• Looking up service part numbers on illustrated parts diagrams
• Coordinating dealer orders and shipments as well as inbound product from vendors and other branches
• Communicating with customers in a professional manner via email and phone
You will need:
• Working knowledge of agricultural and construction equipment
• Comfort discussing equipment features, applications, and options with dealers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer service and inside sales orientation
• Sense of urgency and an action oriented mindset
• An energetic, positive, and proactive attitude
• Sensitivity to the needs of our customers
• Ability to manage competing priorities and tasks
• Desire to be part of a fast paced continual improvement process
• Knowledge of order desk functions including order entry, pricing, and shipping
• Ability to toggle between multiple software applications and browser windows at one time
