The Role
The Role
- Design, implement, and maintain database systems across multiple platforms (Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
- Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and security of databases
- Collaborate with developers, engineers, and stakeholders on data architecture and issue resolution
- Implement and test backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Manage database security, including user access and compliance
- Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting tools like PowerShell, Bash, and Python
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL in a production environment
- Expertise in database installation, configuration, and performance tuning
- Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex database issues
- Proficiency with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft ETL processes, including SSIS and SSRS
