Your new role
As a Superintendent, you will lead projects from start to finish. Interaction with the PM is essential. The essential components of this position are communication, scheduling, ordering of goods, and managing manpower needs.
Individual tasks include:
- Correspond with PM to ensure accuracy of plans before commencement.
- Initiate pre-construction meetings with all essential subcontractors.
- Present and maintain a schedule for the project from layout to final inspections.
- Complete material take-offs and delivery schedules with suppliers as necessary.
- Schedule and ensure communication between all subcontractors on site, including daily visits to multiple projects.
- Schedule gas and electric meters with all utility companies.
- Maintain site conditions to meet all safety requirements set forth by OHSA & MOSHA.
- Maintain construction logs of all jobs under construction.
- Maintain an orderly stockpiling of stored goods and site clean-up.
- Ability to travel to multiple job sites during the day, including travel to sites in Maryland and Virginia as needed during work hours.
You will be based out of the Frederick, MD office with regular site visits across Frederick, Loudoun and Prince William counties. You will independently manage 10–12 active interior projects, gaining full exposure to budgeting, field execution, and project closeout.
What you'll need to succeed
- 5 years of commercial construction experience
- Strong background in interior construction or custom tenant improvements
- Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects with high attention to detail
- A relevant degree is helpful but not required
- Proactive attitude, self‑motivation, and desire to grow within a supportive team
