Your new role
As a Civil Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of major infrastructure and civil projects across the Austin area. You will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates across a range of works including roadway, earthwork, utilities, and DOT-focused projects.
You will review drawings and specifications, carry out detailed quantity take-offs, and engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and analyze pricing. Working closely with project managers and operations teams, you will help develop winning bids and contribute to value engineering and preconstruction planning.
This position is ideal for someone looking to establish themselves long-term in Austin, working on a consistent pipeline of projects as the business continues to expand locally.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience as an Estimator within heavy civil construction
- Strong experience working on DOT projects (TxDOT highly preferred)
- Background in roadway, grading, utilities, or broader infrastructure projects
- Ability to perform detailed take-offs and build accurate estimates
- Strong understanding of subcontractor pricing, bid leveling, and scope review
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office tools
- Strong communication, organisation, and analytical skills
