Summary
A court community outreach intern’s job is to help bridge the gap between the court system and the community, fostering understanding, engagement, and access to information and resources. This involves building or maintaining relationships with community groups, organizations, and individuals. This may also involve helping develop and implement outreach programs and educating the public about court operations and services. Works under general supervision. The Community Outreach Intern supports the functions of the Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2 Place 2.
- Develops strong relationships between the court, with the community and community leaders.
- Identifies target audiences, propose or develop services, programs, messaging, materials and services that would benefit and engage the community.
- Works on and assist in planning and completing all approved events, services, and activities.
- Acts as the primary voice for the Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2 Place 2 organization, and handle communications with the media and community.
- Creates, presents, and maintains a favorable public image for the Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 Place 2 constituents, the public and the Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 Place 2 court.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of current strategies and propose adjustments as needed.
- Develops, updates and/or improves the Court website and social media platforms.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Graduation from High School or GED.
- Current enrollment in a higher education institution preferably as an Undergraduate in the field of Marketing, Business, Public Relations, Communications or Journalism
- Proficiency in Spanish (preferred)
- Reliable transportation
- Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation.
