Role Purpose
To safely and effectively provide leadership to the MKW rolling crews while rolling the mill. Direct and participate in mill set-up and maintenance activity, changeovers, etc. that involve the cold rolling process to ensure a quality product will be provided to our customers.

- High School diploma or equivalent (R), Associate/Bachelor’s Degree in Supervision, Management or Related Field (P).
- 4 years of Manufacturing Experience (R)
- Safety, Health & Environment (R), Mechanical Aptitude (R), Reading Comprehension (R), Problem Solving (R), Mathematics (R), Labor Relations (P), Basic Metallurgy (P), 5S (P), Six Sigma/Green Belt Training (P).
- Written and Oral Communication (R), Organizational skills (R), Leadership (R), Computer Skills (R), Interpersonal Relationships (R), Mechanical Aptitude (P) .
- Safety/Environmental: Establish, maintain, and support a safe work environment and work habits and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements, practices and policies. Promote a safety-First Attitude
- Quality: Inspect and observe equipment prior to and during rolling process to maintain the mills ability to produce quality product.
- Productivity: Effectively roll and direct mill activity to meet production goals and targets.
- Cost/Stewardship: Maintain supplies, rolls, spare parts, etc. to minimize downtime while meeting budget constraints.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety inspections (mill dept) as necessary, and communicate all findings and issues to management in a timely manner. Initiate appropriate actions to address any deficiencies.
- Coordinate grinding activity with the Herkules grinder operator to ensure required rolls are available when needed.
- Assists CSM supervision as required and adhere to the established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Communicate negative trends specific to cold rolling process to minimize downtime and off quality product.
- Assist in the 5S and Lean Six Sigma processes and coordinate on-going activity within the mill department. Communicate activity and suggestions to management on a weekly basis.
- Maintain required inventory of mill supplies (roll, bearing, etc.) necessary to meet the production schedule and communicate activity to management any issues or situations that may cause avoidable down time.
- Roll the mill in a manner to maximize the life span of equipment and produce 5,000 lbs. per hour rolling the MKW100 mill.
- Assist CSM Supervision with implementing and conduction required training, reporting and tracking of incidents (i.e. recordables, first aid, near misses, spills), and coordinating proper disposal of recycled materials (environmental) within the CSM
