About The Role
This role will safely and effectively organize, plan, and control assigned areas of responsibility related to the Quality Assurance group and follow established corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines to deliver consistent results to external and internal customers. This person will work in a manner to aide in maintaining the Quality System and support our customers, and also provide backup support to Material Release and Certifications, as well as being involved with other related projects, as directed by Quality Assurance Management.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalency (R); AS or BS in Engineering or Business (P)
Experience: 1 - 5 years’ experience (R) in Quality, Engineering, wrought alloy processing and/or technical function (P)
Areas of Knowledge: Organizational and clerical skills, Analysis and sorting skills (R) Quality Control, ISO and AS Standards requirements; Quality Auditing, manufacturing processes and equipment, statistical process control, ISO and AS specification requirements, Metallurgy/Metals Manufacturing, Aerospace quality systems/standards i.e. GE, Nadcap, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, FAI, FMEA Manufacturing processes, Quality Control, and/or Testing and Release, Metallurgical or Chemical laboratory experience, Specification Interpretation (P)
Skills: Strong communication skills and functional general computer experience (Word/Excel/etc.) (R), analytical skills, technical writing, leadership, and Haynes-specific computer systems. Role Responsibilities
- Understand the Haynes Quality System Requirements, the basic ISO, Nadcap, and AS requirements. Have a basic understanding of product and process flows to enable daily support of our quality objectives.
- Work as a backup as needed to support multiple functions. Assist in the data extraction for the various systems, as directed. Generate product reviews as needed for material issues.
- Support certifications in the daily functions to maintain test sheets, heat cards, and other data that flows into the certification department. Initiate Product Reviews on material as required. Support with editing of certification process. Understand the flow of certifications and help as needed in the distribution of certifications. Maintain the data for certification errors of completed marked-up certifications. Assist with initial categorization of certification errors. Can generate certifications in QTC for material release prior to shipment as needed to meet production goals and may require weekend/overtime coverage. Modify certifications as requested by sales and/or the customer.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with the material release and certification requirements of industry/customer specifications.
- Maintain TUV training and accreditation for certification of PED material.
- Summarize monthly activity for input in the monthly Quality Assurance Report. Provide input for the report in a timely manner.
- Provide back-up support to Certification Release and Certification of material for shipment, (b) back-up for daily scrap and rework report
- Participate on assigned Quality Assurance & Quality Engineering projects to ensure yearly commitments are met, as directed.
- Assist Quality Assurance and Engineering with material release and certification issues.
- Assist Quality Assurance/Manufacturing Engineering as time allows with PFMEA, PPAP, and statistical data.
- Participate in Process Audits.
