Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our civil litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney passionate about civil litigation who is looking to work in a dynamic environment at a respected firm. The successful candidate will represent clients in a wide range of civil law matters including but not limited to breach of contract, real estate, construction and business law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Litigation & Court Appearances: Handle hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials. Provide strong courtroom advocacy and legal representation for clients.
- Case Management: Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring all deadlines are met, clients are kept informed, and cases are progressing smoothly.
- Legal Drafting & Analysis: Prepare legal documents such as petitions, motions, discovery responses, settlement agreements, and final orders.
- Negotiation: Work closely with clients and opposing counsel to negotiate fair settlements, avoiding trial when possible but prepared to advocate in court when necessary.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates, ensuring that they understand the legal process, their options, and the status of their case.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case handling and client satisfaction.
- Legal Research: Conduct legal research on Texas civil litigation issues and stay current with legal trends and case law.
- Professional Development: Participate in continuing legal education and internal training to enhance your legal skills and grow within the firm.
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensure: Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in civil litigation or related legal practice, with hands-on experience in family law cases preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Solid understanding of civil litigation principles and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with legal research and drafting of pleadings and motions.
- Ability to handle a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail.
