Role Description The Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Pilot Mountain, NC, responsible for expanding Hayco Construction’s client base and project opportunities across its regional markets. This role includes identifying and qualifying new leads, building and maintaining relationships with owners, developers, and design professionals, and representing the company at industry events and networking activities. The Business Development Manager will prepare and deliver proposals and presentations, collaborate with the leadership and project teams to align offerings with client needs, and track market trends in target sectors such as industrial, institutional, retail, aviation, healthcare, and mixed-use facilities. Daily activities also involve managing a pipeline of opportunities, maintaining accurate CRM and reporting, supporting marketing initiatives, and ensuring that all business development efforts reflect Hayco’s commitment to integrity and long-term partnerships.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in business development, sales, and client relationship management within construction, real estate development, or related industries.
- Experience with market research, opportunity identification, and strategic planning to grow regional markets and key industry verticals.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities, including comfort interacting with owners, developers, and design professionals.
- Organizational and project coordination skills, including maintaining pipelines, using CRM tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of design-build and general construction processes; familiarity with industrial, institutional, retail, aviation, healthcare, or mixed-use facilities is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to work on-site, travel regionally as needed, and represent the company with professionalism and integrity.
