The Catering Sales Manager provides an integral part in revenue generation for the resort by marketing and selling guest rooms, function space, and resort amenities. The position also provides planning and coordinating services for clients with all operating departments within the resort.
What you will do (includes but not limited to):
You will maintain a complete knowledge of facilities and banquet menus to better facilitate booking guest rooms, function space, ballrooms, and auxiliary rooms for catered events; conduct banquet tours and site inspections, assist guests with menu selection, determine food and beverage counts, and oversee coordination of banquet events through completion. Maintain communication and timeline of events leading up to and including day of event. You will provide open, accurate communication between client and all departments. Follow up with the client after events is required to ensure guest satisfaction. Promoting resort services to the public to gain exposure and more clients is an integral function of your position as well as promoting positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors.
The qualities and characteristics for this position include being personable, reliable, organized, and motivated.
Minimum requirements include a strong command of written and oral English; basic math competencies; proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word and Excel)
Skills and abilities include effective communication; prospecting and negotiating sales; ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment.
Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma/GED; College preferred
Minimum experience required is event planning, hotel sales, and hospitality industry preferred.
Physical elements include walking, escorting guests around event rooms, up/downstairs, around resort property and buildings; physical lifting/moving items for events; various temperatures, weather conditions, and noise levels.
