The Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing materials and products. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring timely order fulfillment, and upholding warehouse safety standards. The Warehouse Associate will work closely with the warehouse team and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Receive incoming shipments of materials and products, verifying quantities and inspecting for damage or discrepancies
- Accurately record and label received items, and organize them in designated storage locations within the warehouse
- Retrieve and pack materials and products for customer orders according to picking lists and packing instructions
- Prepare orders for shipment by packaging items securely, labeling packages with shipping information, and arranging for carrier pickup or delivery
- Perform regular inventory counts and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records and identify discrepancies
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment by sweeping floors, emptying trash bins, and keeping aisles and storage areas clear of obstructions
- Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, safely and efficiently to move materials and products as required
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues
- Collaborate with other warehouse team members and department supervisors to prioritize tasks and meet daily production goals
- Perform other duties as assigned by warehouse management or supervisory staff
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years experience working in a warehouse or similar environment is required
- Packing and crating experience is a plus
- Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks such as counting, labeling, and recording inventory
- Forklift experience is required
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification is a plus
- Basic math and computer skills, including the ability to use inventory management software and handheld devices
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) on a regular basis
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to follow instructions and adhere to company policies and procedures
