This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about language acquisition, cultural awareness, and helping students build confidence in communicating in a second language.Position Summary: The Spanish I Teacher will teach introductory Spanish courses to middle and high school students, creating an engaging and supportive learning environment where students develop proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing while exploring the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.The ideal candidate is committed to building positive relationships with students, differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs, collaborating with colleagues, and supporting Hawbridge's mission of providing meaningful, student-centered learning experiences.Essential Responsibilities: -Teach Spanish I courses to middle and high school students (grades 712).-Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons that promote language acquisition and cultural understanding.-Foster students' proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish.-Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with exceptional needs.-Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and risk-taking in language learning.-Assess student learning using a variety of formative and summative assessments.-Maintain accurate grades, attendance, and student records.-Communicate regularly with students and families regarding academic progress.-Collaborate with instructional staff, Student Services, and school leadership to support student success.-Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.-Uphold The Hawbridge School's mission, values, and expectations for professionalism.Qualifications: Required- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.- Commitment to fostering an engaging and inclusive learning environment.Preferred: -Experience teaching Spanish at the middle and/or high school level.-Experience in differentiating instruction for diverse learners.-Familiarity with proficiency-based language instruction and technology integration.-Experience working in a collaborative school setting.The ideal candidate: - Builds strong relationships with middle and high school students.- Inspires curiosity about language and culture.- Believes every student can succeed with high expectations and appropriate support.- Collaborates effectively with colleagues and families.- Is reflective, flexible, and committed to continuous professional growth.- Creates an engaging classroom where students feel comfortable practicing and using Spanish.Why Hawbridge?At The Hawbridge School, educators have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
