7th/8th Grade Math Teacher
Position Summary
The Hawbridge School is seeking a passionate, student-centered 7th/8th Grade Math Teacher to join our Upper School team. The ideal candidate believes all students can succeed in mathematics and creates an engaging classroom that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and a growth mindset. This teacher will provide rigorous, standards-aligned instruction while building meaningful relationships with middle school students during a critical stage of their academic and personal development.

Primary Responsibilities
-Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned mathematics instruction for 7th and 8th grade students.
-Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs, English learners, and advanced learners.
-Use formative and summative assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction.
-Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture built on respect, responsibility, and high expectations.
-Integrate technology and real-world applications to make mathematics meaningful and relevant.
-Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) focused on student achievement, instructional improvement, and collaborative planning.
-Maintain accurate student records, grades, and communication through Infinite Campus.
-Communicate regularly with students and families regarding academic progress and classroom expectations.
-Serve as an advisor to a small group of students, supporting both their academic and social-emotional growth.
-Participate in school events, faculty meetings, professional development, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Required
-Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
-North Carolina teaching license (or eligibility for licensure) in Mathematics (Middle Grades Mathematics preferred).
-Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Commitment to working collaboratively with colleagues and families.
Preferred
-Experience teaching middle school mathematics.
-Experience in a charter school or innovative educational setting.
-Knowledge of MTSS, differentiated instruction, and data-driven decision-making.
-Experience integrating instructional technology into daily lessons.
-Ability to teach Algebra I is a plus.
