- Conduct comprehensive patient observations, monitor wound healing progress, and assess infection risks using advanced physiology, microbiology, and anatomy knowledge.
- Lead infection control initiatives by reviewing medical records, documentation, and data collection to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create personalized care plans focused on infection prevention and wound management.
- Educate staff on aseptic techniques, infectious disease care, and epidemiology principles to promote best practices across all clinical settings.
- Oversee data management related to infection rates, wound outcomes, and compliance metrics; prepare reports for leadership review.
- Supervise patient monitoring activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols while maintaining meticulous medical records in accordance with HIPAA standards.
Skills
- Extensive critical care experience with a strong background in hospital or acute care settings.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing or training healthcare teams in infection control or wound care programs.
- In-depth knowledge of infectious diseases, microbiology, epidemiology, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to nursing practice.
- Familiarity with data management tools, MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments, and medical records documentation review processes.
- Ability to perform patient observation accurately while applying aseptic techniques in various clinical environments such as assisted living facilities or Level I/II trauma centers.
- Strong understanding of public health principles, OSHA regulations, and infection control policies to ensure compliance across all operations.
