What are the responsibilities and job description for the Make Ready Technician position at HAVEN FOR HOPE OF BEXAR COUNTY?
SUMMARY.
The Make Ready Technician prepares recently vacated rooms and other areas for occupancy readiness and availability. The position ensures that vacant rooms meet the established quality standards for occupancy by disposing of trash, cleaning, assisting with painting, and performing technical repairs in a timely manner. The Make Ready Technician responds to service work orders, pressure washing duties, and assists other members of the Facilities team as directed by the Facilities Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Responsible for ensuring all repairs and improvements have been made to rooms/areas as outlined in the make ready checklist such as sheetrock repair/replacement, painting/touch ups, caulking, replacing trim boards, vinyl tile buffing, trash-outs and any other recommended repairs.
- Completes make-ready checklist and all other required maintenance documentation in a timely manner as required by the Facilities leadership.
- Assists in maintaining the common areas, and amenities by picking up trash and debris, pressure-washing and performing general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as needed.
- Assists the Painter & Maintenance Technician as directed ensuring to cover trim, floors, furniture, and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint in all vacant rooms. Checks all doors and windows for issues, will paint doors and doorframes.
- Cleans machines, equipment and work areas using water, solvents and other cleaning aids as directed. Clean spray nozzles, brushes, and all other equipment at the end of shift.
- Polishes and cleans all furniture as needed.
- Responds to service work orders and assists facilities staff as needed and/or directed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION.
- Required Minimum Education-High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 1-year general construction/maintenance experience in repairs, processes and procedures.
- Minimum of 1-year commercial painting experience.
- Must have minor experience with installation of light fixtures and wall sockets.
KNOWLDEGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES.
- Ability keep up with work in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.

Qualified candidates will have a valid Texas Driver’s License, a good driving record, reliable transportation and appropriate insurance coverage on any automobile used for work. Candidates will be eligible for reimbursement of documented work-related expenditures, consistent with relevant company policies. Travel within the city and its surrounding areas will be required from time to time (if applicable).
