Position Overview: The Store Specialist is a pivotal role within our dispensary, responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the store across all departments, including inventory management, front desk operations, and sales. This position demands a proactive leader who is adaptable to change, works collaboratively with the GM and Shift Specialists, and ensures that the store functions efficiently. The Store Specialist is a key holder and plays an essential role in the opening and closing procedures, making their availability on weekends and holidays crucial.

Key Responsibilities:Guest Services & Sales:

  • Check-In Guests/ID Verification: Ensure all guests are checked in efficiently and that IDs are properly verified, complying with all regulatory requirements.
  • Greet Guests: Create a welcoming environment for all customers, offering assistance and guiding them through their shopping experience.
  • Assign Guests: Distribute guests to available team members to ensure they receive personalized service.
  • Educate Guests on Promotions: Inform guests of daily and weekly promotions, enhancing their shopping experience and driving sales.
  • Ring Out Guests: Accurately process transactions, applying promotional discounts as needed and ensuring a smooth checkout experience.
  • In stock audit: Regularly verify that all products are on display and organized according to the provided inventory list.

Inventory Management:

  • Restock Transfers (Safe to Live): Ensure inventory is accurately transferred from the safe to the sales floor, maintaining product availability.
  • Organize Safe: Keep the safe organized and ensure all products are accounted for, minimizing shrinkage and loss.
  • Metrc Tag Audit: Conduct regular audits of Metrc tags and maintain meticulous record-keeping to ensure compliance.
  • Accept Incoming Orders: Oversee the receipt of new inventory orders, verifying accuracy and quality.
  • Restock Floor: Ensure the sales floor is consistently stocked during business hours, meeting customer demand.
  • Change Product Percentages: Adjust product pricing percentages when new batches are available, ensuring accurate pricing.

Operational Excellence:

  • Open/Close Store: Assist in opening and closing the store, including setting up and closing registers, counting tills, and ensuring all areas are secure.
  • Cash Handling: Manage cash transactions, including register drops and consolidation of tips, ensuring accurate bookkeeping.
  • Daily IDR Checks: Conduct daily inventory distribution reports (IDR) to identify and address any inventory issues promptly.
  • Manual Discounts: Apply manual discounts when necessary, adhering to store policies and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Shift Transition: Facilitate smooth shift transitions by communicating any ongoing issues or tasks to the incoming shift.
  • Manage Freshdesk: Oversee Freshdesk tickets, ensuring customer inquiries and issues are resolved in a timely manner.

Leadership & Team Collaboration:

  • Break Team Members: Manage and coordinate team breaks, ensuring the floor is always adequately staffed.
  • Conduct 1:1s: Engage in regular one-on-one meetings with team members to provide feedback, support, and professional development.
  • Hands-On Training: Provide hands-on training for new employees, ensuring they are well-equipped to perform their duties.
  • Manage Asana: Utilize Asana to manage tasks, track progress, and ensure all responsibilities are completed efficiently.
  • Educate Employees on Promotions: Inform employees of daily and weekly promotions, ensuring they understand rules and regulations.
  • Attend Trainings/Meetings: Participate in regular training sessions and meetings to stay updated on store policies, product knowledge, and industry trends.
  • Staff Meetings: Contribute to weekly staff meetings, sharing insights and updates, and collaborating on store strategies.
  • Leadership Review: Review leadership weekly, completing any necessary tasks to ensure the team meets performance goals.

Facility & Merchandising:

  • Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the front desk, sales floor, and other areas of the store are kept clean and well-organized.
  • Maintenance: Ensure any maintenance issues are being communicated to proper departments
  • Merchandising: Keep the floor stocked and visually appealing, following merchandising guidelines to enhance the customer experience.
  • Flower Freshness Checks: Regularly check the freshness of flower products, ensuring they meet quality standards.

Communication & Problem-Solving:

  • Issue Resolution: Communicate any issues, such as profile, vendor, or private label concerns, on appropriate channels and follow up until resolved.
  • Bookkeeping: Track and maintain accurate records of all cash transactions and ensure compliance with store policies.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prior experience in a dispensary or retail environment with supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of cannabis products, industry regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Team Player: Strong leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively with all departments and lead by example.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.

Work Environment:This position requires the ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a fast-paced environment. The Store Specialist must be able to handle stressful situations with professionalism and remain customer-focused at all times.
