Job Summary

The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for owning and managing the company's production schedule to ensure customer demand is met efficiently, materials and resources are available, and production capacity is utilized effectively. This position serves as the central connection between Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, Quality, Sales, Customer Service, and Operations. The Production Scheduler is responsible for establishing production priorities, developing and maintaining the production schedule, identifying constraints, resolving scheduling conflicts, and communicating changes throughout the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Production Scheduling

• Optimize and utilize the company’s ERP system to manage purchasing, inventory, production requirements, material availability, costing, and sales/demand information. Maintain accurate system data and use ERP reporting to support operational and purchasing decisions.
• Create and manage the production schedule weekly and make daily adjustments as needed to address changes such as delayed resources, equipment failures, or other disruptions.
• Monitor production progress daily to ensure the monthly goal remains on track.
• Proactively communicate risks, delays, or resource constraints when performance is not tracking to plan and take corrective action to support achievement of the monthly target.
• Coordinate closely with all departments to communicate and manage changes to incoming pepper and pickle deliveries, ensuring timely updates, accurate scheduling, and minimal disruption to production and receiving operations.
• Schedule and manage the transfer of input inventory and WIP. Coordinate incoming pepper loads to support uninterrupted production.
• Use data from the ERP system, supplier commitments, customer forecasts, inventory levels, and cost analysis to make informed decisions regarding purchase timing, contracted volumes, supplier allocation, and supply risk.
• Report ERP issues to appropriate team members.
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
• Some travel required.

Supply Chain Coordination

• Negotiate and manage raw product contracts with growers and brokers, ensuring terms align with established quality specifications, pricing requirements, volume needs, delivery expectations, and overall business objectives.
• Maintain proactive communication with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries, keep inventory and scheduling current, and provide timely, accurate information to the Production and Inventory Receiving departments.
• Partner closely with internal Sales team to understand expected sales volumes, forecasts, promotional activity, new business opportunities, and changing demand patterns. Translate customer volume expectations into actionable purchasing, inventory, and supply plans utilizing the company’s ERP system, ensuring timely and reliable data to support production planning, inventory management, and business decision-making.
• Support the supplier scorecard program by providing timely feedback, maintaining accurate performance data, and monitoring supplier results to ensure produce suppliers meet Hausbeck’s quality, service, reliability, and performance expectations. Help identify opportunities for supplier development and strengthen strategic partnerships that support continuous product improvement and Hausbeck’s long-term business objectives.
• Monitor raw material, packaging, and finished-goods inventory levels to ensure appropriate supply while minimizing excess, aging, obsolescence, and waste. Establish and maintain inventory targets and proactively identify potential shortages or overages.
• Manage the purchasing of prime materials and other key raw materials based on forecasted demand, customer requirements, inventory position, production needs, quality specifications, and cost objectives. Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply, consistent quality, competitive pricing, and timely resolution of issues.
• Communicate timely to suppliers regarding supply chain issues requiring attention.
• Actively participate in floor level activities, continuous improvement or quality related issues.

Education and/or Experience:

• Production planning and purchasing experience
• Strong experience in ERP/MRP systems, supplier and contract management, inventory and demand planning and data-driven decision making
• Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Agribusiness, or Business preferred.
• Advanced ability in the use of MSOffice, ERP and Supply Chain.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Must have math skills and an understanding of Production Resource Planning (PRP).
• Strong project management experience, ability to think strategically, problem solve tactical issues, and manage multiple projects with changing priorities.
• Ability to present ideas effectively, actively listens and works across functional boundaries.
• Possess strong negotiating skills having the ability to negotiate successful grower contracts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of produce markets and supply chain dynamics.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Problem analysis and resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
• Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the supply chain.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

Provide necessary papers allowing holder to work legally in the United States.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in an office environment but requires regular interaction with and presence in manufacturing, warehouse, and production areas. The employee may be exposed to typical manufacturing conditions, including noise, temperature variations, wet environments, machinery, and food production activities.
