Position Overview:
Hauck Enterprises is seeking a dedicated individual to join our cemetery maintenance crew at Chapel Hill Cemetery. As a member of the crew, you will be responsible for the upkeep of the cemetery's grounds, installing headstone memorials, performing general maintenance requests, and providing assistance during burials. We are looking for someone with previous commercial landscaping experience and tractor operation experience, as it is a crucial aspect of this role. Experience in cemetery operations or a similar field is preferred. This position offers competitive pay, up to $19 per hour, based on experience. Responsibilities:
- Mowing and line trimming of the cemetery grounds in full
- Install headstone memorials in accordance with cemetery guidelines and customer requests
- Assist with burial preparations, including digging graves and ensuring the site meets all safety requirements
- Operate and maintain tractors and other equipment used in cemetery maintenance
- Collaborate effectively with other team members to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of tasks
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure working environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience operating a zero turn lawn mower, tractor and other heavy machinery
- Proficiency in headstone installation techniques and burial procedures
- Attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating a backhoe
- Previous experience in cemetery or funeral home maintenance
- Familiarity with cemetery regulations and procedures
- Basic knowledge of landscaping and groundskeeping practices
