What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cemetery Grounds Maintenance Employee position at Ponte Vedra Valley?
As a Cemetery Crew Member, you will be responsible for various tasks related to ground maintenance, landscape maintenance, backhoe operations, and tractor/trailer operations. Your duties will include assisting with burial set up, maintaining the grass, assembling and installing memorials and headstones, and fulfilling maintenance requests.
Responsibilities:
- Install headstones and monuments.
- Assist in the preparation and set up for burials, ensuring all necessary equipment and materials are ready for use.
- Completing grounds maintenance requests that ensure the overall upkeep of the cemetery grounds and memorials.
- Operate tractors, trailers, mowers and other lawn maintenance equipment. Small equipment knowledge preferred (lawn mower, weed eater, edger, blower)
Requirements:
- Monday – Friday from 7 am to 3 pm with occasional weekday and weekend overtime
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to or over 75lbs
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Compensation and Benefits:
- The position starts at $16 per hour, with raises at 90 days, and yearly. No previous cemetery work experience is needed, but preferred, and could possibly determine a higher starting hourly rate.
