Position Summary
Hatfield Metal Fabrication is seeking a dependable, motivated Shipping & Packing Assistant to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in preparing high-quality fabricated metal products for shipment while ensuring orders are packaged accurately, safely, and on time.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Package fabricated metal parts and assemblies for shipment.
- Prepare products for UPS, FedEx, LTL freight, and customer pickups.
- Verify orders for accuracy before shipment.
- Label, wrap, band, and palletize materials as required.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts or pallet jacks (training available if needed).
- Maintain accurate shipping paperwork and packing lists.
- Assist with receiving incoming materials and verifying deliveries.
- Keep the shipping and warehouse areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Assist other departments as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous shipping, warehouse, manufacturing, or packaging experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills are helpful.
- Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
