HPT is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Coordinator to manage shipping and distribution operations at our facility in Lake Katrine, NY. This position will also involve assisting in production when not shipping.
The Shipping Coordinator responsibilities include processing orders, liaising with couriers and shipping agents, arranging pickups and deliveries, managing shipment schedules, tracking and documenting incoming and outgoing packages, and ensuring that all shipping procedures are followed.
Our ideal candidate is familiar with shipping and logistics systems, have excellent organizational skills, and are able to handle time-sensitive tasks.
Ultimately, the role of the Shipping Coordinator is to ensure all cargo are shipped and delivered in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with customer requirements and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with carriers and internal departments to schedule and track shipments.
- Prepare shipping documents, including packing lists and customs forms, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and handling of goods to prevent damage.
- Support financial and administrative tasks related to shipping operations.
- Support the production staff when available.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous shipping & receiving experience required.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with shipping software and logistics processes.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and compliance.
- Ability to handle multiple duties and tasks daily.
- Must be computer literate and comfortable working with different computer programs.
- Must possess the ability to read and follow instructions, read a tape measure and calipers.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. mechanically unassisted and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work as a team.
- Mechanical aptitude is strongly desired. Mechanical background with 3 years of manufacturing or equipment maintenance and hands on experience desired.
- Ability to work unassisted.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Regular and dependable attendance.
- Workday: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM M-F. Overtime as needed.
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
