We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Set-Up / Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC wire and tube bending equipment used in the production of automotive and non-automotive components.
The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to maintain quality and productivity standards in a fast-paced environment. Candidates with experience in wire forming, tube bending, robotic welding support, or automotive component manufacturing are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC wire bending and tube bending equipment.
- Perform tooling changes, machine adjustments, and job changeovers.
- Verify machine settings, tooling, materials, and programs before production runs.
- Conduct first-piece inspections and ensure parts meet specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and make approved adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Perform routine quality inspections using calipers, gauges, fixtures, and templates.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and work with maintenance and supervisors to minimize downtime.
- Follow work instructions, setup sheets, routers, quality standards, and production schedules.
- Properly identify, tag, and document all production materials and finished goods.
- Segregate and report non-conforming material.
- Package products according to customer requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Record production, scrap, and downtime information accurately.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and process improvements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing experience required.
- Experience with CNC equipment, wire bending, tube bending, forming equipment, or related machinery preferred.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, setup sheets, and production documentation.
- Experience using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and inspection fixtures.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and moving machinery.
