Project Details / Open Reason
This role is open to support a backlog of Linux automation and patching work. The current team is short-staffed, and the existing consultant leading Ansible efforts is unable to dedicate sufficient time. This engineer will take over and formalize the Ansible implementation, support patching and authentication strategies, and help mentor junior team members.

- Senior-level experience with Linux (RHEL and Ubuntu)
- Strong hands-on experience with Ansible in production environments
- Experience with LDAP integration and authentication strategies
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms (Nutanix preferred)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
- Cross-platform automation experience (Linux/Windows)
- Take ownership of existing Ansible automation and work to formalize and expand it
- Support automated patching and maintenance of Linux servers
- Collaborate on login strategies and LDAP authentication integration
- Identify and address kernel-level nuances across Linux distributions
- Mentor junior team members and help build internal Linux expertise
- Coordinate with Windows teams where automation overlaps
- Prepare for potential future cloud integration
