This is not a traditional program management role — this position requires a transformational leader who has owned large-scale Epic implementations from strategy through go-live and post-live optimization. The ideal candidate brings deep experience managing complex, multi-site healthcare integrations, including those tied to M&A transitions.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Program Oversight
- Provide end-to-end leadership for the Epic implementation across both hospitals, ensuring alignment with Healthcare’s enterprise strategy and Transformation Office directives.
- Lead and mentor a team of 9 project managers overseeing all Epic functional and technical workstreams.
- Act as the primary liaison between leadership, Epic Corporation, and cross-functional teams across IT, operations, and clinical domains.
- Establish and maintain unified vision, timelines, and quality metrics across all project areas.
- Oversee integration points with third-party applications, conversions, infrastructure, networking, and ERP systems.
- Report directly to the Transformation Program Directors and Executive Steering Committee.
- Drive program governance through structured reporting, milestone tracking, and risk mitigation.
- Communicate progress, issues, and readiness to hospital executives, clinical leadership, and key stakeholders.
- Partner with Epic’s Implementation Executive (IE) and Implementation Director (ID) to ensure coordinated progress and alignment.
- Ensure clinical, technical, and business readiness for go-live, including training, change management, and communications.
- Lead cutover, go-live, and stabilization planning, ensuring seamless transition to post-live operations.
- Oversee post-implementation optimization and lessons-learned initiatives.
Required:
- 10 years of healthcare IT program leadership, with direct oversight of full Epic implementations at multi-facility health systems.
- Proven experience leading Epic implementations during M&A integrations or hospital acquisitions.
- Demonstrated success managing large, multi-disciplinary teams (100 total resources) across clinical, technical, and operational domains.
- Deep understanding of Epic modules (Ambulatory, Inpatient, Pharmacy, Radiant, Cupid, Beaker, etc.) and supporting ecosystem (interfaces, reporting, infrastructure).
- Exceptional communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills — able to work effectively with CIOs, CMIOs, CMOs, and operational leaders.
- Strong project governance, risk management, and change management discipline.
- Prior leadership experience within Epic go-live “Big Bang” environments.
- PMP or PgMP certification.
- Epic implementation training, certification, or previous role within Epic Corporation or an Epic-certified health system.
- Experience managing transitions involving eClinicalWorks, Meditech, or other EMR conversions.
- A strategic leader who can operate at both the executive and tactical levels.
