We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Future Ready/College and Career Guidance Counselor to join our high school team. This position focuses on preparing students for post-secondary success through comprehensive college and career readiness programming, individualized guidance, and future-focused educational planning. You will provide counseling to students in areas of personal, social, vocational, and educational development, and assist the professional team in the use of survey data, parent feedback, and other inventories to serve the needs of students. The candidate should have a strong working knowledge of Naviance and its application to this role. We are seeking an applicant with strong leadership skills who will be a contributing, collaborative member of the counseling team.

- TITLE:** School Counselor
- REPORTS TO:** Principal of Hatboro-Horsham High School
- TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: ** 10 month, 191.5 days/yr., salary in accordance with HHEA Professional Agreement.

Essential Duties And Responsbilities
**Academic & Career Guidance**
- Develop, implement, and implement comprehensive college and career readiness programs for grades 9-12
- Be a liaison to the career and technical education program
- Serves as the SSD Coordinator for the Guidance Department
- Guide students through career exploration using interest inventories, aptitude assessments, and labor market data
- Coordinate advanced academic opportunities
- Support students in developing 4-year academic and career plans aligned with their post-secondary goals
- Support the department through student and parent information night events virtually and face-to-face
- Integrate technology tools and platforms to enhance college and career readiness
- Assist the department in coordinating Instant Decision Days and college Application workshops
- Liaison between the school and local armed forces representatives
- Develop programming around emerging careers and industry trends to increase awareness of future opportunities
- Work with administration to coordinate internship, job shadowing, and work-based learning opportunities
- Partner with local businesses and industry professionals for student mentoring
- Experience as a high school-level guidance counselor
- Experience with college and career readiness programming
- Knowledge of college admissions processes, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities
- Familiarity with industry certifications and alternative post-secondary pathways
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of students, families, and colleagues
- Proficiency with technology platforms and student information systems
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:** valid PA Teaching Certification in School Counseling.
