This role plays a critical part in advancing HAT’s quality strategy by leading ISO 9001 compliance initiatives, facilitating cross-functional process improvements, and implementing best-in-class quality methodologies that support operational excellence and scalable manufacturing.
What You’ll Do
Based in our Easton, PA headquarters, the Quality Engineer will play a key role in supporting the performance and continuous improvement of HAT’s Quality Management System while partnering with cross-functional teams across manufacturing, engineering, and operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Analyze quality data including product defects, customer concerns, incoming material issues, and field failures to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Track and analyze key Quality Management System (QMS) performance indicators and communicate results to leadership to support data-driven improvements
- Review internal processes and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards and internal quality documentation
- Investigate product field failures and coordinate RMA, rework, or recall activities when necessary to minimize customer impact
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective action initiatives for product or process failures
- Ensure effective inspection processes are in place for incoming materials, in-process production, and final product inspections
- Support material review board (MRB) processes and ensure proper identification and segregation of non-conforming products
- Conduct internal quality audits across all aspects of the Quality Management System and drive corrective actions for improvement opportunities
- Develop, revise, and standardize documented procedures, work instructions, and process documentation
- Conduct training sessions on quality procedures, process standards, and work instructions
- Actively participate in the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process to support process standardization and improvement
- Apply quality and problem-solving tools such as FMEA, CAPA, Fishbone, Fault Tree Analysis, Lean methodologies, and 5-Why analysis
- Communicate quality issues and improvement opportunities across the organization to support proactive problem resolution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes and product quality
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5 years of manufacturing quality experience in a production environment
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems
- Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred
- Experience utilizing quality methodologies such as Lean, FMEA, CAPA, 8D, PDCA/A3, and root cause analysis techniques
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications
- Strong planning, organizational, and project management capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter who is highly organized, adaptable, and able to work independently
- Collaborative team player who can work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
