The Hastings Area School System is seeking an outstanding educational leader to serve as Assistant Principal at Hastings High School beginning in the 2026–2027 school year.

Hastings High School serves students in grades 9–12 in a supportive and student-centered environment focused on academic excellence, student growth, and positive school culture. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for student achievement, strong leadership skills, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.
- Valid Michigan Administrator Certificate or ability to obtain certification
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or related field required
- Minimum of three years successful teaching experience preferred
- Administrative experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to support instructional improvement and positive student outcomes
- Knowledge of MTSS, PBIS, restorative practices, and student discipline procedures preferred.
- Assist the principal in the daily operation of Hastings High School
- Support a safe, positive, and inclusive school culture
- Assist with student discipline, attendance, and behavioral interventions
- Support instructional leadership, staff supervision, and professional growth
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, families, and community stakeholders
- Assist with supervision of extracurricular activities and school events
- Use student data to support academic achievement and school improvement goals
- Support implementation of district initiatives and board policies
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal
