Job Description
Summary: The main function of a logistics planning analyst is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. A typical planning analyst is responsible for reviewing and distributing production, work and shipment schedules and compiling reports on inventory levels, cost, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
- Examine documents, materials and products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy and conformation to standards and specifications.
- Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities.
- Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
- Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
- Revise production schedule, when required, due to design changes, labor or material shortages or other interruptions.
- Distribute production schedules and work orders to departments.
Skills:
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor and materials.
- Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
- Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production.
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5-7 years related experience required.
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
- Daily, will monitor build schedules, MRC, and Inventory to understand when material is needed in facility to support operations.
- Daily, will collaborate with assigned supply base, to manage schedules to attain inventory targets and cover demand.
- Daily, analyze past due schedules and mitigate supply constraints with supply base and communicate any shortages to process partners
- Attend daily stand-up meetings with operations to understand critical supply issues
- Attend weekly JRS Meetings to align engineering change/NPI releases with supply needs
- Work with multiple process partners to support flow of material from Dock to Dock to Point of Use
- Support process partners and team with constructive feedback to support process improvement throughout external and internal operations
- Identify process improvement opportunities and initiate/support improvement plans with process partners and leadership teams

Typical task breakdown:
- Utilize MRP, Build Schedule, and Inventory position data to analyze and make sound business decisions which support material delivery, inventory targets, and cost to align to supporting operations in executing our EBS.
Interaction with team:
- Works with all process partners and supply base to support continuity of supply in alignment with EBS.

Education & Experience Required:
- 3-5 years’ experience in supply chain management, project management, logistics management or manufacturing operations.
Technical Skills
