We’re seeking an Advanced Level Recombinase Testing Specialist to join a dynamic molecular biology team. In this role, you’ll apply expertise in molecular cloning, DNA extraction, sequence analysis, and plant transformation to test recombinase variants for activity and specificity. This is a hands-on laboratory position with opportunities to contribute to groundbreaking agricultural research.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform molecular cloning (restriction/ligation, Gibson assembly, Golden Gate)
- Conduct DNA extraction, purification, and sequence analysis (BLAST, Geneious, CLC Workbench)
- Execute transient plant transformation (Agrobacterium-mediated)
- Support plant tissue culture work (preferred)
- Test recombinase variants for activity and specificity
- Maintain detailed records and follow lab safety protocols
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Plant Biology, or related field
- Hands-on molecular biology lab experience (required)
- Experience with plant tissue culture (preferred)
- Knowledge of recombination systems (Cre/lox, FLP/FRT)
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
