Position Summary
The Controls & Continuous Improvement Manager role will be responsible for working with other engineers, VP of Engineering and Manufacturing to create, develop, review and implement capital projects that meet current business needs and delight consumers and customers. This is a hands-on role with responsibilities that include planning and executing technical initiatives at all six plant sites in addition to copacker facilities. The Controls & CI Manager will report directly to the VP of Engineering.

Primary Position Responsibilities
- Manage equipment suppliers, vendors, installation and automation contractors to execute Capital Projects in order to deliver Business Objectives and Results.
- Provide accurate, timely feasibility assessments of potential product, package, manufacturing and savings projects to enable data-based business decision-making and strategies.
- Collaborate with plant engineering and operations to improve feasibility of new ideas. Provide training of local resources to learn common techniques of root cause resolution.
- Actively identify and champion productivity or revenue building ideas through Process Mapping and other value Stream Mapping techniques at each facility.
- Lead projects through scope development, funding, FAT, installation, and successful startup. Provide valuable controls input in new capital budget efforts.
- Effectively communicate project status, issues/help needed and key milestones to team members and to leadership.
- Deliver technically robust projects on time and within funded amount.
- Monitor & track packaging system trends in order to identify & prioritize improvement projects and initiatives.
- Manage completion and of testing of equipment to deliver line performance funded
- Identify & manage outside consultants and contractors when needed for a project.
- Support personnel running the plant equipment and facilities to ensure they are properly trained, meeting performance requirements and are acquiring packing knowledge.
- Provide technical support for plant and facility operations, including investigation and correction of any issues.

- Bachelor's or associate degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical major highly desired. Project Automation, controls and continuous improvement experience of 10 years or more in applicable mechanical, electrical, facility project field an acceptable alternate.
- Five plus years of experience in liquid packaging engineering and technical roles with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Bottle or paper carton packaging experience desired.
- Beverage experience highly desirable. PLC, automation, networks, instrumentation is required.
- Experience with development, programming, modification, and maintenance of Human Machine Interface (HMI) for manufacturing automation.
- Skilled with Robotic specification, programming, integration and the establishment of Nominal Value Settings; Knowledge of Fanuc brand robotics is desirable.
- Experience with integrating and maintaining Vision Inspection systems and establishing Nominal Value Settings for said inspection systems. Knowledge of Keyence brand vision systems id desirable.
- Strong Knowledge of machine automation control architecture including control panel layouts, wiring schematics, and sensor types (i.e. PNP vs NPN).
- Project Management skills and experience in implementation of significant projects (> $1MM).
- Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to provide leadership and training in a team based environment.
- Lean / Six sigma tools experience or training is a plus
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral.
- Excellent analytical skills, ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues, problem-solving tools and skills are required.
- Computer skills required: Internet research skills, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook, MS Project, Access, AutoCAD, VISIO)
- Outstanding time management/prioritization and organization skills required.
- Ability and willingness to travel 15 - 40% of the time depending on project load.
Salary : $125,000 - $150,000
