Job Summary

The Loan Processor is responsible for managing the documentation, verification, and processing of all loan applications from initial submission through final approval and closing. This role will work closely with Lender from application to closing with providing exceptional customer service to borrowers, realtors, and internal partners.

As part of a community bank, the Loan Processor plays an important role in supporting local borrowers and helping the bank maintain its reputation for personal, relationship-driven service.

Duties

  • Review and process consumer, mortgage applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist Lender in collecting all required loan documentation (income, assets, credit, collateral, title, etc.).
  • Communicate with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and closing agents to obtain and clarify information as needed.
  • Submit complete and compliant loan files to underwriting in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all disclosures and compliance requirements (TRID, RESPA, HMDA, ECOA, etc.) are met throughout the loan process.
  • Monitor loan pipeline and follow up to ensure smooth and efficient progress toward closing.
  • Coordinate closing documentation and scheduling with closing department or title company.
  • Maintain detailed and organized electronic loan files according to bank and regulatory standards.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through clear communication, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Identify process improvements and work collaboratively with team members to enhance efficiency and service quality.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in mortgage processing, loan support, or related banking role.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of consumer mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in loan origination systems (LOS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and data integrity.
