What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Manager, Engine Asset Strategy position at Harvard Group International?
Senior Manager, Engine Asset Strategy
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Senior Manager, Engine Asset Strategy sits at the center of the company’s engine platform, determining how high-value engine assets are evaluated, deployed, and moved across a global maintenance network. This role blends technical engine knowledge with operational planning, requiring the ability to assess engine condition, define maintenance strategy, and align plans with shop capacity and timing across multiple facilities. This is not a coordination role, but a decision-making one—balancing priorities, solving problems in real time, and ensuring efficient asset flow to maximize utilization, throughput, and value. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, operational awareness, and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate incoming engines from leasing, acquisitions, and internal channels to determine appropriate maintenance and deployment strategies.
- Develop and manage integrated asset plans that define where, when, and how engines and modules will be processed across the global network.
- Allocate assets across multiple MRO facilities based on shop capability, capacity, and operational priorities.
- Balance shop loading to maximize throughput while avoiding bottlenecks and idle capacity.
- Coordinate dependencies across facilities, ensuring alignment between module readiness, shop timelines, and engine build requirements.
- Monitor execution of asset plans, proactively identifying risks and adjusting plans to maintain timelines and output targets.
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, technical product managers, leasing, and operations teams to ensure alignment and execution.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on asset status, forecasts, and potential constraints.
- Drive continuous improvement in asset planning processes, tools, and overall operational efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS
- Direct experience working with aircraft engines, ideally within an MRO, OEM, or leasing environment.
- Strong technical foundation, with an engineering background (mechanical, aerospace, or similar) or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience in engine maintenance environments with an understanding of shop flow, turn times, and maintenance scope.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex planning across multiple facilities, balancing capacity and operational constraints.
- Track record of driving execution and solving problems proactively in dynamic environments.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive outcomes without direct authority.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage large volumes of information.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, operations, or a related field.
COMPENSATION
