Job Title:
Technology Integration Specialist (Teacher on Special Assignment)
Job Summary:
The Technology Integration Specialist collaborates with appropriate instructional and technical staff to support, manage, and optimize the integration of technology into the educational environment to enhance teaching and learning. Experience with Google Apps for Education and a deep understanding of how technology can be used in support of student learning is required. This skilled professional works independently and collaboratively with colleagues.
Qualifications:
Professional Educator License (PEL) or eligible for the appropriate license
Minimum of five years of effective classroom/school setting experience
PEL Administrative Endorsement preferred, not required

Terms of Employment:
This is a 9-month position—salary and benefits established by the Board of Education. The position retains the Harvard Education Association membership and is part of the Collective Bargaining Unit.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate technology into classroom instruction and assessment, while promoting effective instructional practices and the role of technology in supporting them.
- Delivers technology training, workshops, and lunch and learns for staff development, based on identified needs.
- Assists staff in developing units, projects, or other educational technology applications within their curriculum.
- Assists and supports staff in developing a 1:1 learning environment in their classrooms
- Establishes an environment encouraging creative and independent use of instructional technology.
- Works cooperatively with building principals and directors to evaluate new curricula and the integration of technology with those curricula.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in educational technology and provide recommendations to district leadership.
- Collaborate with other technology staff to support the district's overall technology plan.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands of this position include frequent sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Repetitive bending at the waist as well as kneeling, stooping, crouching to assist students is also required. Regularly walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices, and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
