Job Title:
Pre K-5 Science Team Leader
Job Summary:
The Vertical Team Lead ensures team members understand and adhere to established standards, spanning content, pedagogy, and assessment. A primary focus is aligning curriculum with these standards, ensuring materials and activities meet specified criteria. Collaborative planning sessions are facilitated to define achievable learning goals aligned with standards. Analysis of student performance data is conducted to identify alignment with standards and areas for improvement, guiding instructional adjustments. Additionally, support, resources, and professional development opportunities are provided to enhance team members' ability to align instruction effectively with standards.
Qualifications:
Overall evaluation rating of proficient or higher, consistently demonstrating effective teaching practice.
Evaluation:
The supervisor shall annually evaluate the team leader. Such evaluation shall be reviewed with the team leader and made part of his/her permanent record.

Terms of Employment:
This is a nine-month stipend position. Pending the review of school needs and the evaluation process, the term may be extended annually.

Expected Outcomes
- Ensure that all team members are familiar with and adhere to established standards, including content, pedagogical, and assessment standards.
- Lead efforts to align curriculum with established standards, ensuring that instructional materials, activities, and assessments are designed to meet the specified standards.
- Facilitate collaborative planning sessions among team members to ensure that instruction is aligned with standards and that learning goals are clearly defined and achievable.
- Lead the analysis of student performance data to assess alignment with standards and identify areas for improvement. Use data to inform instructional decisions and adjustments.
- Provide support and resources to team members to enhance their understanding of standards and ability to align instruction with standards effectively. Offer professional development opportunities focused on standards alignment and implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Share the district's vision and contribute to its success.
- As scheduled with the supervisor, develop agendas and lead team meetings to achieve shared goals for student and educator learning.
- Develop norms of collaboration and relational trust.
- Implement processes and structures to enhance capacity for analyzing, planning, implementing, supporting, and evaluating practice.
- Foster a learning community with collective responsibility for all students' learning.
- Model and support colleagues in implementing effective instructional practices.
- Lead discussions that utilize data to strengthen instruction.
- Facilitate data analysis to identify student and educator learning needs.
- Lead colleagues in agreeing on standards, curriculum adherence, common pacing, and shared assessments.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deepen understanding of content, pedagogy, and student learning processes.
- Participate in the district’s curriculum review cycle as required.
- Attends and actively participates in monthly Professional Development as scheduled for Team Leads.
- Works with the vertical assigned team after school for up to 12 hours during the year.
- Serves as a member of the Building Leadership Team.
