What are the responsibilities and job description for the Valet Driver position at Hartley Botanica?
As a Valet Parking Driver, your primary responsibility is to assist and retrieving guests vehicles. Also responsible for welcoming guests, give a fond farewell, assisting with guests gifts, providing directions and any other guest related assistance. You shall monitor and maintain safety, security, and cleanliness of parking areas/levels, and report any security or safety problems. You must be able to effectively re-route traffic to alternate parking levels or locations when the parking facility reaches maximum capacity and keep informed supervisors and other teams.
Valet Driver Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist guests with opening/closing vehicle doors.
2. Be on time for your shift.
3. Put out chairs for ceremony and reception, and arrange them according to plan.
4. Put out tables for reception and arrange them according to plan.
5. Welcome guests and visitors with appropriate greetings of the day.
6. Acknowledge and greet guests within 25 to 30 seconds and provide professional, fast and friendly service.
7. Able to communicate parking procedures to guests/visitors.
8. Tag guest vehicle keys with key tag, and guest vehicle with a number tag.
9. Provide correct counter token or receipt of valet parking to the guest.
10. Verify guests token or receipt with the one attached to the key before handing over keys or vehicle to the guest.
11. Announce for guests driver when the guest is ready to depart.
12. Able to effectively park and retrieve guests cars without causing damage to the vehicle.
13. Ability to drive and operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
14. Able to provide guests with information regarding property facilities, amenities, services, hours of operation.
15. Able to provide guests with direction and local areas of interest and activities.
16. Give fond farewell to all guests who are departing as per house standard.
17. Monitor and direct personal and commercial vehicle traffic on property, including guest vehicles, taxi cabs, limousines, and buses.
18. Ensure vehicles are legally parked and to maintain a smooth and efficient flow of traffic.
19. Ensure all guest's valet experience are memorable, unique and as per the house's standards.
20. Responsible to maintain the security of vehicles, belongings kept inside the car and vehicle keys.
21. Responsible to follow up with guests to ensure their requests or problems have been met to their satisfaction.
22. Responsible for opening and closing parking area or facility.
23. Document and report all vehicle incidents like damages, accidents, theft, missing articles etc.
24. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the supervisor or manager.
25. Monitor and maintain safety, security, and cleanliness of parking areas, and behind the valet stand.
26. Responsible to report any security or safety problems, safety hazards and potential security problems to the supervisors.
27. Re-route traffic when parking facility reaches maximum capacity and ensure staff is informed.
28. Maintain a professional attitude at all times
Prerequisites:
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Must be able to speak, read and write Standard English.
- Must be able to stand during entire shift.
- Must have professional appearance and attitude at all times.
- Available to work flexible Full-Time hours including weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Accountability and personal integrity are essential as the nature of the position allows access to a client's personal and private information
- Ability to multitask and tend to several customers at once
- Experience driving vehicles with both manual and automatic transmission
- Organizational skills are necessary to quickly recall the location of vehicles and their appropriate keys
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Basic computer skills.
Experience:
Prior Bell or Valet experience desired in a full-service hotel a plus, but not necessary.
This is for a seasonal wedding venue. Season runs mid-March through mid-November, Events are on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only. Shifts are offered, and you can take them or leave them - we do not have a required minimum of work hours. Shifts are typically 8.5 hours but can be as long as 12 hours. Pay starts at $16.50/hour plus tips. Overtime and double overtime paid. Dinner is included if you like.
