Overview
Hartford Athletic is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Graphic Design & Game Presentation Intern looking to learn and grow within the sports and entertainment industry. The Graphic Design & Game Presentation Intern will report to the club's Graphic Designer and work closely with the Marketing & Creative team, contributing to projects that support ticket sales, partnerships, social media, game presentation, and overall brand awareness. This internship offers hands-on experience creating digital and print assets for a professional sports organization while playing an active role in the live production of Hartford Athletic home matches. Ideal candidates will have a strong design sensibility and a desire to build a professional portfolio in sports design and live event production.
Please note that this internship requires attending and working at all Hartford Athletic home matches, including weekday and weekend games at Trinity Health Stadium.
Responsibilities
- Be an integral part of the Marketing & Creative team
- Design creative assets for social media, digital advertising, marketing campaigns, game presentation, and print materials while maintaining Hartford Athletic brand standards and partner guidelines
- Create and update graphics for the stadium videoboard, ribbon boards, player features, sponsor activations, matchday content, and other club communications
- Prepare, resize, organize, and maintain creative assets, templates, and project files using Adobe Creative Suite to support campaigns across multiple platforms
- Collaborate with the marketing, social media, partnerships, and communications teams to develop creative concepts and execute promotional campaigns from ideation through production
- Assist with the preparation, loading, quality control, and live operation of the stadium videoboard and game presentation system, ensuring timely execution of graphics, videos, and sponsor content during home matches
- Required to attend and work at all Hartford Athletic home matches, assisting with game presentation, live videoboard operation, and other matchday creative responsibilities
- Take on other duties, special projects, and event-day tasks assigned by Marketing & Creative staff
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with a strong emphasis on Photoshop; experience with After Effects and Illustrator is a plus
- Strong understanding of layout, typography, color, and visual storytelling
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of soccer and the sports industry preferred but not required
- Experience with live event production, videoboard systems, or motion graphics is a plus
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Visual Communications, Marketing, or a related field (or a recent graduate)
- Available throughout the fall semester
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, and select holidays based on gameday and Marketing & Creative programming
- Required to attend and work at all Hartford Athletic home matches
- Reliable transportation to Trinity Health Stadium
