Role Description and Primary Responsibilities
The Legal Recruiter will be responsible for supporting the firm's hiring strategy and objectives by designing and implementing innovative recruiting programs to attract top legal talent to the firm.
- Plans and coordinates on-campus recruitment efforts; establishes the on-campus interview schedule for summer and fall associate hiring; communicates with career services offices; identifies interview teams; creates the call-back interview schedule; schedules interviews; communicates with students;
- Implements lateral associate recruiting initiatives, including preparing and posting advertisements, communicating with applicants and search firms, assessing resumes, arranging interviews;
- Supports the firm's hiring strategy and objectives; works with the Chief Legal Talent and Development Officer to define the criteria for screening applicants and assesses resumes for presentation to the Hiring Partner and Hiring Committee; implements strategies to support the firm's recruiting and hiring objectives;
- Plans and executes the firm's Summer Associate Program, Spring Program, the HSE Diversity Scholarship Program and other recruiting events designed to increase the visibility of the firm;
- Oversees the internal interview process, including the revision and updating of forms and supplemental materials;
- Coordinates the employment offer process, including recruitment related diligence (i.e. background checks, conflicts, references, transcripts, bar status, etc.);
- Oversees the maintenance of the applicant database; prepares reports on recruiting activities and offer status; coordinates the preparation of annual recruiting statistics for the Hiring Partner, the Hiring Committee, and the Management Committee; and
- Tracks recruiting budget to ensure recruiting activities align with projected financial parameters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field plus five years experience recruiting for professional or exempt positions or a combination of experience and education sufficient to indicate the ability to successfully perform in the position.
- Experience in a law firm or client service organization an asset.
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of staff with a client service orientation and handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to respond to multiple priorities and plan work to meet varying deadlines
- Ownership of projects, ability to anticipate group needs
- Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate
- Ability to work independently, plan work and organize multi-stage projects, implement individual tasks and complete assignments with minimal direction
- Attention to detail; skill in proofreading documents
- Strong technology skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook. Experience with LawCruit a plus.

- Expected Annual Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000
