Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating specialized drilling equipment to install underground utilities and pipelines with precision and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Operate horizontal directional drilling equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring accurate alignment and depth control during underground installations.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of machinery, including mechanical components, hydraulic systems, and safety features.
- Assist with setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of drilling systems to optimize performance.
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and team members to plan drilling sequences and execute work according to project specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of drilling activities, including measurements, depths, and any encountered obstacles or issues.
- Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations to promote a safe working environment for yourself and others on site.
- Perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, water trucks, graders, dump trucks, tankers, and paving machinery as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, or paving machinery.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on heavy equipment.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and regulations.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record for operating various vehicles including dump trucks and water trucks.
- Familiarity with horizontal directional drilling techniques and equipment is highly desirable.
- Construction site experience demonstrating knowledge of excavation processes and utility installation methods.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining high safety standards.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
