Job Responsibilities:
1. Client Representation: Provide legal representation to clients in various practice areas, including family law, criminal defense, personal injury, real estate, estate planning, and small civil litigation.
2. Case Management: Manage a diverse caseload, including conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and preparing for hearings, trials, and negotiations.
3. Client Consultation: Meet with clients to discuss their legal concerns, offer professional advice, and provide ongoing support throughout the legal process.
4. Business Development: Assist in developing and implementing strategies to expand existing practice areas or explore new areas, leveraging personal interests and connections to attract new clients.
5. Legal Research: Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and precedents, ensuring effective representation and accurate legal advice.
6. Collaborative Approach: Collaborate with the firm's partners and other team members to provide comprehensive and effective legal services to clients.
7. Court Appearances: Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and motions.
8. Networking: Attend legal conferences, seminars, and events to build professional networks and stay informed about industry trends and developments.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the Wisconsin State Bar or ability to become admitted promptly.
3. 2 years of experience practicing law preferred but not required.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply legal principles effectively.
5. Proactive and self-motivated individual with a demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
6. Business development mindset with a keen interest in growing existing practice areas or exploring new ones.
