Job Summary

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain transcripts, conduct and/or arrange testing, develop curriculum, graduation plans and required post-secondary plans for students.
- Maintain and audit student records including class schedules, attendance, admittance & release records, grades educuational plans, etc.
- Request all transcripts for incoming students within required time frames, using the QYH report from Trails to determine where requests are to be sent.
- Interview new commitment students to inquire about school attendance not listed on the QYH.
- Develop graduation plan for all committed students within 30 days of their arrival at facility.
- Determine classes for which students need to be scheduled in order to meet credit requirements toward graduation.
- Update graduation plans at the end of each grading period to include new credits earned.
- Determine youth appropriate for GED testing based on graduation plan and coordinate with teachers to provide GED preparation materials in content-area classes.
- Administer GED exams.
- Coordinate/administer the WorkKeys assessment for post-secondary youth within 30 days of entry into facility or earning a high-school diploma/GED while in the facility.
- Oversee use of KeyTrain curriculum for students to prepare for employment and success on the WorkKeys assessment.
- Develop required post-secondary plan outlining the school day program for post-secondary youth.
- Assist post-secondary students with college applications, FAFSA application, Colorado Opportunity Fund Scholarship application and selective service registration, where applicable. These services can also be offered to high school juniors and seniors.
- Assist in assessment, preparation and administration. e.g. MAP, PARCC, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school or equivalent.
- Associate's (or higher) Degree OR 2 years of study at an institution of higher education (48 semester hours) official transcripts are required for this position, or have passed the WorkKeys exam for Teacher Assistants (see attached document for information and location).
- Two to three years related experience working with students in an educational setting preferred.
- Oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and decision-making skills.
- Basic computer skills required. Basic operating knowledge of office machines.
- Knowledge of transition requirements for post-secondary students preferred.
- Ability to promote and follow Board of Education Coherent Governance Policies, District Policies, and building and department procedures; communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds; and recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
