The Coach serves as an instructional leader who supports the implementation of assessments and data systems, facilitates collaborative analysis of student results, and advances progress toward program and grant goals through targeted instructional strategies and continuous improvement cycles.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide job-embedded instructional coaching through modeling, observation, and feedback to strengthen effective instruction; flex schedule as needed to support evening classes (e.g., afternoon coaching, evening observations, or alternate structures when live observation isn't possible).
- Coordinate Adult Education curriculum implementation to ensure alignment with program goals and grant requirements (ESL, GED, and supporting courses).
- Support grant-required assessment implementation and lead the use of formative and benchmark assessments to inform instruction and monitor student progress.
- Facilitate staff dialogue to interpret assessment and student data, identify instructional implications, and make data-informed instructional decisions.
- Guide instructional planning, interventions, and progress-monitoring based on data to drive continuous improvement and increase student achievement.
- Support instructional planning using Adult Education standards (e.g., College and Career Readiness Standards, English Language Proficiency Standards), including resource identification and differentiation based on assessment data and student needs.
- Design and facilitate professional learning and professional development aligned with program and district instructional frameworks.
- Monitor progress toward the Adult Education and Literacy Act (AELA) grant outcomes and program targets by reviewing benchmarks, supporting implementation strategies, and ensuring staff actions align to required results.
- Participate in leadership and district collaboration, including attending district meetings for Building Instructional Coaches.
- Maintain professional growth through relevant coursework, training, and professional learning from various sources.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/administrator.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field is required; Master's degree or equivalent advanced training is preferred.
- Over three years of experiences as a classroom teacher.
- Colorado Adult Basic Education Authorization is preferred but not required.
- Transcripts required.
- Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.
- Knowledge of content standards, assessments, and Adult Education program requirements, along with the ability to analyze data and support evidence-based instructional practices.
- Awareness of current research/best practices and ability to translate these into classroom practice, modeling a range of instructional strategies.
- Demonstrate flexibility with the integration of content within a standard-based system to meet diverse academic and workforce needs.
- Develop positive, collaborative relationships with instructors, staff, community partners, and adult learners from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- The role requires strong critical thinking, organizational, and project management skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, strict confidentiality, proficiency in Microsoft Office and student data systems, and a solid understanding of Adult Education programs to support continuous improvement.
