What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant - Sheriff's Office position at Harrison County?
POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the direction of the Administrative Lieutenant, coordinates and performs a wide variety of administrative functions in support of daily operations including providing assistance/responding to inquiries from the public; scheduling appointments; maintaining departmental records and filing system; drafting correspondence and other documents; preparing purchase requests, travel/expense reimbursements, reconciling vendor accounts, and other related tasks. Performs other duties as apparent and/or assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma/equivalent and 2 years’ general office experience required. Must have experience working in a modern office setting using standard equipment and computer applications. Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information without disclosure, be organized and able to maintain concentration while working in an area with distractions, and have a public service attitude with the ability to interact in a courteous and professional manner with a wide variety of individuals.
LICENSE / CERTIFICATION
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Texas Notary Public License preferred
